BACKGROUND HISTORY ON MONTE SPINKER
Monte Spinker was born in West Dundee, Illinois. He moved to Texas in 1998 and now resides in the Cedar Creek Lake Area in a little town called Gun Barrel City which is about 1 hour southeast of Dallas, TX.
Monte has been woodcarving for 17 years. He started out carving duck decoys. But these birdhouses have brought him the most attention. He created them in 1998 and has now copyrighted over 80 different patterns. Besides the birdhouses, he also carves ducks, loons, shorebirds, Santa Clauses, plant stands, cowboy boots and much more!
He always welcomes special orders and would be willing to talk with you regarding any of your special carving needs.
USE AND CARE TIPS
These birdhouses are made from cedar and will weather well outside. Just like cedar fencing, they will gray in time. If you prefer it not to gray, we recommend a water sealant like Thompsons, or an oil like Linseed. Just remember, the birds will not nest until the smell dissapates, so plan accordingly. Each birdhouses has a clean-out box. Just unscrew to remove and clean out the birdhouse.
BIRDS THAT ARE ATTRACTED TO THESE HOUSES
Typical birds that will be attracted to our houses are wrens, chick-a-dees, nuthatch and possibly finches. The birds really do use them, just check out our video on our website! May the Birds of Paradise Fly up Your Nose!
